UNLESS WE TURN THINGS AROUND

An eight-grader once wrote this poem:
OUR GENERATION
Our generation will be known for nothing,
Never will anybody say,
We were the peak of mankind.
That is wrong,the truth is,
Our generation was a failure
Thinking that,
We actually succeeded
Is a waste. And we know
Living only for money and power
Is the way to go
Being loving,respectful and kind
Is a dumb thing to do.
Forgetting about that time,
Will not be easy, but we will try,
Changing our world for better
Is something we never did,
Giving up
Was how we handled our problems.
Working hard,
Was a joke,
We knew that
People thought we couldn’t come back,
That might be true,
Unless we turn things around.
(Now read the poem from the bottom to the top line-by-line)
Amazing right? Now, how this poem will be told, either from the top or from the bottom at the tail end of our generation is our choice.
The way out is to turn things around starting from our immediate environment by helping the aged, obeying law and order, standing for what is right no matter our close to right the wrong option might seem to be.
#Olumyd believes that working hard should be how we handle our problems.
Dream BIG!! most importantly, when we are living our dreams we must make sure we keep dreaming.
