Dyche says Burnley under no pressure to sell after Keane linked with Man United

Burnley manager Sean Dyche insists the club are facing no pressure to sell their Premier League stars.

Defender Michael Keane has been repeatedly linked with a summer move to Manchester United, the club he left almost three years ago to join the Clarets.

According to several reports, United could make a summer bid for the 24-year-old centre-back who earned his first two England caps this season.

Dyche said on Sky Sports News: “There’s an appropriate time for everyone, there’s an appropriate level of the market, there’s an appropriate moment in everyone’s decision-making when things happen. The good thing is now and for the last few years we’ve been in control of that and we still are.

“We’re not under any financial pressure that’s for sure. The club’s in amazing shape. Although the market is tough for us going outside to bring players in, it’s very strong for us if people want to come and take our players.”

With safety assured heading into the final match of the season at home to West Ham, Dyche will have money to spend in the summer in order to keep the club in the top flight.

And he has promised players already at the club they will not be kept in the dark about their own futures.

“We have open lines of communication with them, I can assure you, and their agents,” Dyche said. “I always tell them the same story so there’s no games being played. Everyone knows where they stand and we make decisions as we need to.”
