Jamie Vardy rescued a point for Leicester as the outgoing champions ended their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
The England striker netted his 16th goal of the season as last season’s Premier League title winners finished 12th after a turbulent year.
Junior Stanislas opened the scoring for Bournemouth after just 57 seconds but the Cherries could not hang on and they needed Ryan Allsop to deny Vardy – who also had a goal disallowed for offside.

The Leicester striker may not have been as prolific this year but he still finished the campaign with an impressive 16 goals. A goal drought before Christmas was ended with a hat-trick against Manchester City and he has scored nine goals in 16 games under boss Craig Shakespeare. He dragged Leicester back into the game against Bournemouth with a second-half leveller, had a goal disallowed for a tight offside call and was twice denied by Allsop.
Moment of the match

Looking for a response following Thursday’s 6-1 hammering against Tottenham, Leicester endured the worst possible start, falling behind after just 57 seconds. Danny Simpson first failed to deal with a long ball, allowing Lys Mousset to run at the defence. Simpson then took out Ryan Fraser with the ball falling again for Mousset. His weak shot deflected off Ben Chilwell and into the path of Stanislas to slide under Kasper Schmeichel from 10 yards.
