Walter Mazzarri insisted Watford could take some positive signs for the future from his final match in charge.
The outgoing Hornets boss endured a torrid send-off as his injury-hit side were thumped 5-0 at home to Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero scored twice while Vincent Kompany, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus were also on target for the Champions League-bound visitors.

Mazzarri handed a full debut to 19-year-old Brandon Mason while fellow teenagers Andrew Eleftheriou and Dion Pereira came on as substitutes.
Mazzarri said: “The positive was that three youngsters played and that is something Watford will have for the future.
“These players had a dream come true, playing against one of the best teams in Europe, if not the world. And now we know that they can do it for the coming years.”

Mazzarri was informed last week that the City match would be his last after just one season in the Vicarage Road hot seat.
The Hornets are now looking for their ninth manager in just five years, but chairman Scott Duxbury has defended their revolving door policy.
In his programme notes, Duxbury wrote: “There will always be those on the outside looking in only too happy to offer comment and opinion.

“Football is an industry which attracts attention with each and every decision.
“Our only interest has been, is and remains the long-term well-being of Watford FC.
“Decisions, challenges and opportunities are addressed every day and we will never apologise for appearing at times to be different in the way we do things.”
