Claudio Ranieri

Italian Ranieri is the early favourite with the bookmakers and would certainly be no stranger to the Pozzo family owners. Ranieri continues to held in high regard following his unexpected Premier League title success with Leicester and his departure is still regarded as unjust by many Foxes fans. At 65, Ranieri offers both experience and stability, as well as charming the dressing room and keeping an eye on helping move the Hornets up the table.

Slavisa Jokanovic

Serbian Jokanovic had guided Watford into the Premier League after being appointed in October 2014 as the Hertfordshire club’s fourth coach in the space of just five turbulent weeks. Despite the achievements, Jokanovic and the Hornets parted ways, but there could still be unfinished business between the pair. Jokanovic had a spell at Maccabi Tel Aviv before returning to the Sky Bet Championship with Fulham, taking the west London club into the play-offs. However, after defeat to Reading, could the 48-year-old be set to finish off the job he started at Vicarage Road?

Roberto Mancini

Another former Leicester boss and fellow Italian, Mancini had spells at both Galatasaray and Inter Milan after leaving Manchester City in 2013. Again, would offer instant knowledge of the English top flight, but whether or not he would relish the chance to be fighting for points to get up the league rather than stay ahead of the chasing pack remains open for debate.

Marco Silva

Portuguese coach Silva was not able to save Hull from the drop, but impressed after his arrival at the KC Stadium in January. Silva’s future, though, remains unresolved and is set to speak to the board before deciding what direction next to take his career – which could be straight down the M1.
